A Little Clip Art

Here is something to do with that little advertisement that comes in the mail, if it has a pretty photograph on it.
Clip out one of the pictures and use it to brighten up a plain piece of writing paper.

Mounted on a matching strip of paper.

Put the entire piece on a card. and outline in glitter glue. Short on card making supplies or card-stock? Just alter an old card with this kind of free clip art.

Beautiful!
There was an elderly woman at church who would do this and make greeting cards that she sold in the Bookstore and donated the proceeds to missions. This was her beautiful ministry that blessed many with her cards as well as on the mission field.

Such pretty ideas!! My husband's grandmother used to clip pretty pictures like these, mount them to paper, cover them with clear contact paper, and make "personalized" books for our toddlers. There are so many things you can do with just a little creativity!! =)

This mighty be off the subject as pretty as they are but what do you think of J. McCains choice for VP?
I don't like women in the professional field but I think this was somewhat of a good move.
People said they don't know who she is but I never heard of our Pres. candiates till now either.

The candidates this time are rated VB for very boring.

There are other people on the ballot running for president, but the press has a black-out on them. They never interview them and never attend their rallies and never promote them. The press itself could cause an overturn in the elections depending on what they do. If they had a particular person in the spotlight all the time, a lot of people would vote differently. I'm not comfortable with either candidate. They can't rouse any patriotism or love of country and they can't make a speech like Ronald Reagon. His speeches were more like sermons that made people look at what was right and good and feel that their lives were a contribution to something greater. When you look at your ballot, you'll see other people listed there but most people won't even know what they stand for. Ron Paul is one candidate who has a strong interest in the pro life issue. Having delivered over 4,000 babies in his life, he is anti-abortion. Married over 55 years, with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren enough to fill a small town. Alan Keyes is apparently still running, and has some very strong Biblical values. There are other people running, and a person could always write in a candidate. I suppose there are arguments against that, but I think God will bless us if we vote our conscience rather than try to pick a winner like a horse race.

The running mate for McCain has very young children still at home.

Ooo, pretty! And, Lady Lydia, you're right--the candidates are pretty boring!

Another fun thing to do is when you get those calanders in the mail from the Humane Society, Boys and Girls Club, etc. and don't need them, use the pages for envelopes! They are sturdy enough and it brings some color to a mailbox. :-)

Happy Labor Day!
Blessings,
Dawn

How smart....I always love some of the photos, but then end up throwing them away...that's NOT smart! From now on I 'm going to make my own pretty stationery!! Thanks,Lydia!

By the way, my GREATgrandmother would make all of her greatgrandchildren, back in the 1940' and 1950's picture books by cutting out photos from publications, glue them onto one piece of fabric with pinking sheered edges and do this, making numerous pages of her little "book" for each of us little ones. I did the same for my daughter and my grandchildren..a sweet tradtion, don't you think?! L.
