Unperturbed

(Pictures compliments of Pinterest)

Volumes have been written in the past and present, of the ways ladies contribute happiness at home.  It would be impossible to describe all the things a lady does and can do, to make the home a place no one wants to leave, so for now I will just share morning tea, served while it is still dark outside. Wouldn't you like to come into such a room in the morning and see all this prepared for you? What a grand way to start a day!  I have my own table set, too.

Today I am also sharing a pertinent paragraph from the New Testament, showing contrasts of trouble and peace:

We are troubled on every side,

 yet not distressed;

we are perplexed,

but not in despair

Persecuted,

 but not forsaken;

cast down,

but not destroyed;"

(Read the surrounding verses from your Bible)

From 2 Corinthians 4:7-9

Modern ladies must learn how to respond to personal crisis, feelings of insecurity, fear and personal threats.  The second part of each of the scriptures, above, show the positive answers to upsetting news or anything else.

These verses always inspire great discussions and discoveries of how to be the lady who is nonplussed!

Hello Lydia, This made me smile since I had a memory of a teaching from a Sunday school teacher years ago. He told us we all needed to be
un-perturbable...
I am learning this in everyday living in all the daily stuff!
I pray for that calm heart and insight to be not disquieted in all matters, (easier said than done)
Blessings, Roxy

I just wanted to tell about how uplifting it has been to attend the Bible study on Skype for the last two weeks. I have been really impressed that Lady Lydia would open her home to anyone who wanted to join the study, and they have made the visitors feel so welcome and at home. It is my favorite format, of simply reading scripture, and letting it speak for itself. I have found some things in the text to treasure, and I love talking to the people I have been following for so long, that they feel like old friends. Thank you with all my heart! Julie

Thank you for the remind that we are not destroyed. It has been a difficult week as my grandmother has died this past week. It isn't that I am sad from her passing but the relatives left have been very difficult to deal with and they have been stealing my joy. I have read your article on dealing with negative people to the entire family to help encourage all of us. There is always such joy and refreshment to be found on your blog. Thank you.

Dear Lydia,

I can't tell you how much your blog has meant to me lately. It is just so positive and encouraging and has been such a blessing to me. I am the happy wife of a wonderful godly man and the blessed mother of soon to be five. There has been some very stressful situations in our lived lately and so much criticism over little things. Your blog has been such a restful, encouraging place for me and such a lovely reminder to make my home lovely and beautiful for my precious family. Thank you so very much!

Blessings,

Lauren

I like this post, the older I get the more that getting upset or riled up about a problem does no good at all. Stay calm, think clear and know God is in control.

The morning tea photo is lovely

I am learning how to be unperturbed day by day, by sharing my life experience with Jesus and knowing He is taking care of things. so I love this post.

The picture of the tea tray and the fire is so wonderful, and the words you have written about coming into a room like that spoke to my heart. I always bring up a tray of tea to the bedroom in the mornings, and fresh tea from the pot wakes us up so nicely. Our sitting room is cold in the morning, but one day, maybe I will have a warm, welcoming fire downstairs and then will be able to recreate a little of that picture. But a tray of tea in the morning, wherever served does make for Grand Day.

We are victorious in Christ and as we follow His mission for our lives as home keepers, mothers, wives. The world wants us to be perturbed as it is perturbed.
