I clean up the area and get the tables all wiped off and stack all the dishes and sweep the floor, and just get it ready to be done. I clean off the stove and any cabinet tops and prepare the perimeters of it, but I always save the hardest part of it til after the living area, bedrooms and bathrooms and dining area have been done.
