How Are You?

One of the things I have been doing lately is taking note of interesting things people say, witty or pithy.
I am trying to save some of the old sayings that make  conversation multi-faceted.

Today we asked a man,  "How are you?"

His reply  was:

"How am I? If I were any better, it would make people jealous!"

Then he asked us a question and said, "I have to ask, because I ran out of read-your-mind-pills a long time ago!"

Some sayings I have heard over the years are "she was stronger than a patch of red onions", "facts are stubborn things" and here is a funny one from my husband..."I know it's cold outside, because I went outside and it was cold" Hahah. Kelly T

I have heard, "I'm busier than a one armed paper hanger" (wall paper). Another saying my mother used on me when asked to do something I didn't want to do, "you are slower then molasses in February".

My husband's mother is full of these old sayings. She is 92 this month and enjoys using old familiar sayings. I will visit her today and ask her about sayings.
