Clothing and Home #4 and Video

Greetings and welcome to The Manse.

At the end of the post is the video I made for you, and
below is a picture of the skirt and blouse I wore at home: Lace or white always looks good with plaid.
Skirt by Time &Tru from the Walmart, made of rayon.  The skirt had a very long walking opening that needed to be stitch up. Since it is a peasant style ease of movement, I sewed the side cut together.

Rolls of fabrics for nature dressing or mood dressing.

My tea today is hibiscus from Republic of Tea, sent by one of my readers.

Scripture I quoted about being durable:
Romans 15:4

The verses of comparison between
Discouragement and Comfort
2 Corinthians 5:7-12

I read two poems of Edgar A. Guest:
Loser and Victor
My Life

Young royals wearing cottage core:

I compared the poetry and the paintings in this book and showed how the art and the poetry were aligned with loveliness

To summarize the video on clothing:

*Clothing can set your mood at home and gives you personal dignity.

*Cameras are everywhere these days. Remember that before you go out in grunge clothing.

*Clothing standards can reflect the foundational standards of your life.

*Dressing well shows respect for others, even in the home. I'm always appreciative when my descendants visit and are well dressed, even when casual.

*Modesty should also be beauty.  One should not contradict or compromise the other.

*You can wear lovely clothes that are in good taste, modest and pretty, but you must also have other refined attributes, particularly the things you talk about.

*Dressing well sets a standard in the community that is a good influence.

*To improve the way you dress and speak and learn refinement, do a search on the web and on YouTube for high value manners, and any other self improvement subject. Immersing yourself in some of these will help you pick up a few very good hints that will help.

Olivia’s clothing in The Magic of Ordinary Days:

I have always planned to sew this outfit and make the matching hat or fascinator. The gloves are pretty.

Please enjoy keeping house while you listen:

  1. Thank you for always elevating life. Speech, dress, attitude, hope ....it's so needed in our culture now, more than ever, and a real struggle to maintain at times. I always feel renewed and encouraged by what you share. Please never give up. 🩶

  2. I enjoyed listening to this talk while I prepared a Sunday meal for my family. I thought your outfit was extremely pretty this time. I love blouses with lace on them, and I have always loved long plaid skirts too! It might be because when I was a little girl in the early 80s, my mother always dressed me in plaid kilts to go to church.

Also, I wanted to ask, do you recommend the movie you mentioned? (The Magic of Ordinary Days.) I've never seen it.
