More Than Conquerors and Other Things

Welcome Dear Ones,

Thank you for visiting today and for all you do to encourage me.

In my broadcast today I talked about this amusing sign that I made:

I walked in this layer of fog today,

...and tried this 5 minute seated exercise with Lucy.

I found this frothy coffee (in the picture at the top of this post) recipe quite amusing:

Gently roll or scrunch up 1 small white paper napkin or face tissue and place in a tea cup. Sprinkle cinnamon over the top.  This is a cinnamon roll made the same way.
I had these around the house one day when I wanted to "stage" it for a visitor. The scent was great in musty corners of The Manse.

I hope you enjoy the broadcast today:

  1. Lydia,
I listened to you and sewed while Hurricane Helene strutted herself outside, but we are absolutely fine though I know she has caused quite a bit of sorrow and trouble to so many.
I would agree you do create a place of less anxiety, and that is yet another reason I have you on my reading list (listening list) and look forward to you posting. The Word of God always encourages and strengthens us, therefore, what you read today made me stronger to face challenges.
    Blessings!

  3. Hi Lydia, I am a homeschool mom of 2 boys in Europe.
I had to laugh out loud with this video, because it was so recognizable when you talked about when people who talk down on the homemaker. I recently had my father in law accuse me of putting the kids inside 'a golden cage' and that I 'made them take care of me' (which is almost a sarcastic thing to say to a homeschool mom). I can't say to him: "Well, you have every chance to do better" because he's older than me haha. Jesus says to even love our enemies. I sometimes I'm getting angry when I think about what he accused me of, but than I think of what Jesus says. I forgave what he said, but I'll surely keep some distance. I find it such a blessing from the Lord that I can homeschool my kids and be a homemaker.
    Have a nice day!

  4. I will be thinking of a good response to the older ones who already followed the government program. They followed their dream, let us follow ours. Or what about adapting and paraphrasing the phenomenal statement of Joshua, “Choose whom you will serve…( he listed the various gods of the lands around them)but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15. Thank you for taking the time to post this comment. I usually have a rebuttal for comments from those who are still finding their way in their lives and never married or had a family. I recall my first negative remarks came from the older people who had already raised their children. The golden cage remark might be something we can work with. The saying I heard here was from a poem called “ The bird in the gilded cage.” Good for you for not being emotionally debilitated by that accusation.

  5. Thank you for your reply. I love the verse of Joshua. It's there where I find my peace, I just want what the Lord wants for me and my family. I want to serve Him. We cannot love the world. I want to live in it, but don't want to be a part of it. God is with us.
