View of The Manse in the fog season!! This is the kind of scene that stories are made of.

  1. I just love your content! Thank you for encouraging us moms who are homeschooling & keepers of the home. It's a blessing to listen to you while doing housework and cooking. I also love all your Jane Austen references, she's my favorite! I usually listen on YouTube, but I wanted to pop over here just so I could say thank you! Your channel is a rare gem in a sea of chaos, helping us to keep out focus on what the Lord's called us to and not get caught up in all the noise that is so prevalent these days.

  2. Dear Lydia Ruth,

I am going to gush on you, so if you decide not to post this comment, it’s totally fine. I hope you won’t think I am using false flattery when I say how lovely the interior of the manse appeared, along with the beautiful lady of the house.😊This visit from your home was absolutely wonderful. Oh! And I didn’t mention how lovely your hairstyle was, too! I want to try that style out on myself.

I was able to clean and rearrange a few smaller items in my sitting parlor while you spoke. Like you, I have learned to hide many flaws in my home by covering over unsightly things with strategic decor placed just so. πŸ˜‰I learned some of these techniques while I had my Home Interiors business.Mary Crowley(the company’s founder) believed no home in America needed to be dull or unattractive! Even on a small budget, we can bring things into our home from outside ( as you suggested) to give it a seasonal charm.

It’s interesting you’re studying and putting into practice I Thessalonians 4:11…”and that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands…” I have been more conscious and convicted of obeying this command from scripture for quite some time. Therefore, I appreciate all the encouraging advice in this area. So many times I am tempted to bite off more than I can chew—a figure of speech, of course, but you surely understand.

This visit refreshed me so much today, Lydia. I send you a heartfelt thanks πŸ™❤️

    Blessings,
    Holly

  3. I'm disappointed in YT that they haven't been letting me know you have new videos. I just thought you were taking a break! I typed in your name today as I really love listening to you when I'm unloading groceries, cleaning the kitchen and making lunch. And I've missed about 8 videos!!!!!! I'm half way through this one and, as usual, I love it, and have missed your voice. Maybe the lighting, or probably the color of your sweater, makes you look extra beautiful in this video! It is a great color on you!

In reading Holly's comment she mentions Mary Crowley and I read her very interesting autobiography about 10 years ago. If I remember correctly she was widowed, with young children so had to make her own living, and she started a home interior business. Perhaps you mention it in your video and I'm not there yet. But she loved Jesus and was very inspiring! I remember hearing an old cassette tape from a talk she gave many years ago.

I have a lot of videos to get caught up on now. I guess I'll do one a day! Hugs, Janine PS - LOVED Stan's newsletter, esp the tribute to his father!

  4. Never apologize for the length of your videos, for me, the longer the better! I’ve listened to this one several times (and yes, sometimes to help me sleep!). This morning I listened as I made my husband’s lunch and tidied my kitchen and bathroom. I loved what you said about talking less and not revealing so much. I’ve been working on that for awhile. And I agree with Janine, you look especially lovely in this video. 🌷

  5. As someone in P&P said, "You are too kind." The camera is just on my pc and I use the lighting from the best window when its available. The camera and light was kind to me that day.

  6. Dear Lydia Ruth,
You are, by far, the most influential woman in my life. I want to be just like you when I grow up! My daughters walk by and they see me listening to you as I am washing dishes, sweeping the floor or folding laundry and they tell me that maybe someday when they’re grown, I might make videos to encourage homemakers based on all I’ve learned from my homeschooling with you!
Right now I’m in the thick of it so your videos, your voice and your influence are very powerful and encouraging to me. A lifeline, really. Thank you with all my heart! You are so beautiful and radiant. Ageless. Prettier, truly, with each passing year. Godly women are like that. It comes from within and works its way outward. Your eyes sparkle with joy. I admire you so much! Keep up the wonderful work.. ❤️

    1. You are too kind and over the top with compliments but it’s nice. And please do have a video channel for your children to hear your teachings. You don’t have to wait til you are a grandmother. I wanted to speak when my children were little but the equipment was not as available to the average person and was expensive in those days
