Marrying At Home: Victoria Magazine 1990

We are happy to see that some couples are having very sweet, simple weddings without all the performances and loudness. I described one of these weddings in the video at the end of this post.

I had an old Victoria magazine from 1990 about a wedding at home. Even if I am never privileged to use my home for a wedding, It gave me inspiration to have a reception (not necessarily wedding) for someone in my home.

This one is similar to the tea events we sometimes have here:

I like the arrangement on the wicker coffee table here:

This could be done for anniversaries.

  1. I so agree with you on, all points, about home weddings, Lydia. I'm so glad you're speaking of this! Also, honestly, for me? - your videos are not long enough, ever! Please don't shorten them. You have so much to say ...and if we are distracted, we can always pause or go back later. I actually usually listen to them, in their entirety, more than once ..and always, I glean more the second time. 🩶 May you never feel rushed ... or challenged to condense anything. 🙏

  2. This is beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing this article. I am wondering if I could do something like this for my parents' 50th anniversary next year.

  3. That’s what it inspires me to do also: create a reception for someone at home, even just to honor someone. It’s similar to an afternoon tea.
