New Card Templates

Here is a relaxing and easy craft that is so elegant. Children will enjoy making these
The hat and cup are folded cards, with floral stickers and glitter glue. Crayons are used for solid colors.
The little lamp is a book marker. Just place the template on the fold, as it is supposed to be double. Inside, a verse can be written. The birdhouse is an ornament made with stickers and a button. A hole punch is used and a ribbon is tied through it to make a loope for hanging. To make it easier to send in the mail, make your own button, using colored papers or cardstock, and a hole-punch to make the holes. All of these cut-outs fit card size envelopses.
Print this pattern on cardstock for your templates to trace around. Put straight edges at the fold, and cut.

These templates are not exact, as some changes always occur when I trace them on to the print-out, so you may need to re-do them if, for some reason, you need to be very accurate.

To make a shape more exact, just fold it in half and cut one side. Open up, and both sides should be equal. The hat is not made to be equal, so it won't work with the hat. Put the crown on the fold.

If you are not able to use glitter glue (puff paint, scribbles, etc) you can leave the cards blank, with no outline. Put them on pastel linen look card stock and they will look fine with just a sticker. I imagine you can use all kinds of papers and ornamental things on these patterns and come up with some really creative ideas.

I love card making, too!! I ordered some rubber stamps to use in cardmaking from a Christian company and they said that cardmaking could be thought of as a ministry. I never thought of it that way, but it is true that surprise snail mail can be a real blessing (I know it has in my life) to someone on a difficult day or just to rejoice with them over a happy event. Your templates are lovely.....blessings, Marie

I'm not into card-making, but your craft stuff is getting my attention! I may just take the ideas and make some paper ornaments or tags from them.

Dear Lady Lydia,
Thank you very much for these ideas. I love cards and this week (because of you) I started making cards and I loved doing it. I did three, one for a friend, one for my Granny's 90th birthday and another one to welcome my new neighbours. Everyone loved the cards. I'm going to try these as well.
Love
Lara

This is so precious! I especially love the hat and teacup! And I really like the gold glitter . . . I think it reminds me of my childhood Christmas ornaments!

Thank you for the designs. These will be nice for myself and my daughter to make. We are trying to send cards out to people to let them know we are thinking about them. What better way than with a homemade card.

Thanks for your site. I truly enjoy reading it daily. Print out articles to read, makes nice reading material when we have to be in waiting rooms and such.
Thanks

Sibyl

I think these would make lovely ornaments for a Christmas tree or even to hang in a window.

Jessica, that was a staged picture, just for fun. I don't look like that every day. smile.

Paper-crafting isn't really my area of interest, but that IS adorable. My mom would just die if I sent her one of those with decorations from the grandkids.
