Conversation at Home 2

The poetry I read on the video:

The Home Builders
Prayer for the Home

both by Edgar Guest, available to read here
and also here

I hope you are all doing well and have great plans.

All is well here at The Manse.

We are having very fine weather, as Margaret would say.

The outside colors help me plan
my indoor look.

Occasionally for a bright change in my
sitting room, I wrap fabric around an existing cushion.
This printed fabric  from the Hobby Lobby is often used for home decor as well as clothing.

I hope you can get a few things accomplished while you listen:

Hello, dear Lydia! I really fell behind in your videos due to being in poor health, both physically and mentally, for most of the winter. I am doing better now and have started watching again. I didn't really listen to any videos during that time as I didn't feel I could concentrate on them very well. When I felt up to watching again, I decided not to try to catch up, but I just started with your videos from about a month ago and went from there.

It felt so nice to be "back at the manse," as it were. Your gentle voice is so soothing and familiar. Your words are wise as always. And I have been enjoying all the wonderful poetry you've shared. Thank you for being you. <3

I was thinking about you a few days before you commented, Laura.

I enjoyed the broadcast today. Your dress is so pretty, I hope to see flowers here in the next month or so.
It is so true about more natural healing taking longer. It works more with the body than 'forcing' changes quickly. I've come to lean on as much natural as I can as I am getting more seasoned. There are times for a Dr, but most of the time the solutions can be easily accessed. Recently, I've learned how much dryer we get as we get more seasoned. The herb shop in town taught me about Marshmallow root....so helpful.
I found the little gems in the last 10 minutes of things your mom did with you kids, or the home things you've learned (the washcloth with vinegar in the dryer!) those just tickled my heart.
I have an old top load washer that I'm trying to figure out how to clean. I think I may pour in some vinegar and fill it with hot water and let it set for 30 min. Do you have any thoughts on how to clean your washer?
Still chilly here in Colorado, have a fire today taking the chill off the house. Blessings, Dee

In the morning it is still very cold, with some frost. I quit using g detergents and even found a bottle of vinegar ( sometimes you can find cleaning vinegar) and a box of soda bicarbonate cleans a stopped up drain. I don’t know about cleaning washers. Put the name and date of the model in YouTube and “ natural cleaning “ and there will be something.

You have such wisdom and depth of understanding regarding children who “bring terror” to a home as well as relatives who interfere. I love coming here to visit it’s like a balm to my heart. I’m listening to this talk for the 3rd time now. Thank you.
