These are cards from the 19th century from Victorian Trading Co. catalog. I could not decide which ones to post today so I posted them all. I love the look of the landscape and the way the roads used to look with the wood fences and railings. I like the scene outside the window. One of these cards is called "Arriving at the Inn". I can imagine what it is like inside the inn, with the warm fireplace and a hot meal. Be sure to visit www.lovelywhatevers.blogspot.com for some winter scenes. These posters can be ordered and framed for your home. I do wish someone would devise frames that would be back and front so that winter scenes could be just turned around in the summer, giving double use to the poster frame.

I couldn't decide either. I love them all. I know back then times were harder then they are now but b/c family ties were stronger you knew things were going to be alright.
I know my family has felt the hard times but we have stuck together.
May God bless you with the new season.

I especially love the last one. It reminds me of growing up in Newfoundland and Labrador with lots of snow.
Actually when my Dad pastored in Labrador, it was a very small town, the parsonage (house where the pastors family lives) was actually in the basement of the church which was converted into a very nice little home. It made it easy to go to church...just walk upstairs haha.
Anyway, we had lots of snow in Labrador. More than what we had growing up in Newfoundland. In Labrador, one cant use their cars too much during winter. We mostly got around by ski-doo and sled. Some people by horse and carriage too. So the last picture really reminds me of there.
Its such a pretty picture to me.
Thanks for sharing!

I love Victoria Trading Co! And I love the winter scenery stuff like this. Sometimes I daydream myself into that time era and just let my mind wander a bit. :)
It looks so peaceful in these pictures...I like to think there is no crime, no hate, no violence, to killings...but a time when people lived in peace with one another, prayer for one another, visited one another, ect...

:-)

Blessings!
