Pretty Guest Room

(Decorators Room)

My guest room several different ways for different people with different likes.

Different ways to use the same guest room:
Several ways to arrange a guest room: Here it is ready for a young niece to visit. The curtain is a piece of pink fur fabric, and the picture over the bed is a framed gift-bag. Hat is a paper craft featured previously on this blog.

I have several more posts in  the works, but in the meantime, here is a picture with guest room ideas. The mirrors on the wall are from the Dollar Tree, at one dollar each. They come in several types of finishes, which look like silver or gold. Making a bed, even if no one will notice, is like jumpstarting the day with a positive attitude. Seeing something pretty as you go through the house, is something that makes the heart sing. It improves the mood and manners of family members also. Putting beauty in the home is like extending a smile to someone. It says that you care enough about them and that they are so important, they deserve the best.

Your guest room is definitely pretty. I always make sure as well, that one of my crocheted blankets is thrown over the bed- my friends always ask for my 'hug in a blanket'. My home is very small, but it's so important that my friends and family always know that there's a ready and welcoming place for them.

PS I liked your felt placemats too- I think I might have to make some myself...

Yes, I agree about making the bed. And about having pretty things to look at.

Pretty!

I read your tea blog--I love hot teas and will have to try that brand if I ever see in our area!

When you see one area already pretty you want to go and do more! Once I make the bed I want to make sure the rest of that room looks as good..then on to the next room. :) Your guest room is very pretty!

I completely agree about making the bed. I have a few friends who do not make their beds - ever. For me, the room is not pretty or restful or uncluttered if the bed is not made!

The room is very pretty and welcoming.

Making the beds is a great start to the day: tidiness truly begets tidiness.

It is always great to have at least one corner, one table, one room, or something in the house (a coat rack, an entry way, a coffee table, etc) looking good, to spur you on to something else. And its fun to glance in at the finished cleaning project sometimes just to inspire to keep going. If I ever catch up on laundry and dishes and such today, I hope to post varieties of that guestroom, showing different looks it can have with different blankets, or cushions. When I was learning about cleaning rooms, it was taught that you must first pick everything off the floor and put it somewhere, then make the bed, then sort through the pile and take out things that were alike: books and papers, clothing, toys, other things. This was a very easy and effect method for doing it. I am sure everyone has their own way of doing things, but if you are ever really stuck, this old way really is helpful.

I would be pleased to relax and sleep in your guest room. It looks very peaceful and inviting.

A pretty room. The care shown in the effort to create beauty says a lot about character. It is a way of showing love for others.

By the way, just wanted to add, I appreciate that you accept anonymous comments. I *still* haven't got my own blog. Technology and a lack of confidence impede me.

I like it that you used different bedding in your guest room depending on the guest you were hosting. With a neutral dust ruffle it is easy to just change the pillow covers, and wall accessories. I like to think of myself as art minded, and your blog has helped me to see all kinds of possibilities for crafts even from scraps, which are extra nice when wanting to give things without a lot of expense.
