Dear Ones,
I hope you are doing your best in your current circumstances. I anticipate leaving a nice video for you. My voice and word currency is thin right now since I’m being visited by descendants, so I’ll post a few photos.
Lately I have been shown how to make a simple pleasant daily journal by putting one small die cut or picture on a tiny page. These are placed in tiny blank books and done once a day.
I use small colored and white index cards and write one scripture word. It has to be very simple and not become a huge project. That takes restraint for some of us. This is a good project for your children too if they want to know about words. The cards can be clamped together with a fancy clothespin. This is a good habit that for some, creates a moment of quietness. simplicity, focus, and prayerful gratitude which can do wonders for the day.
Parts of pictures from greeting cards are also used.
Stickers from Dollar Tree.
Stickers from the Hobby Lobby.
I mentioned something like this in a previous post.
My granddaughter looks like a painting.

Hello Mrs Sherman
I’m always so glad to see a new post from you. I love the pictures of the Manse and the ideas for the handmade daily journals.
The picture of your granddaughter is just beautiful! Even when I zoomed in on it, it was still hard to tell that it isn’t a painting!
You have been such an encouragement to me! Thank you so much!
Your words are so kind, Barbara. The little pages with the daily stickers have helped over taxed homemakers to get the day started with beauty and peace.
Your summer views are absolutely beautiful, and those tiny journal pages are such a sweet and creative idea! So lovely that you're getting to enjoy time with your descendants too. Your granddaughter really does look like a painting!
I just shared a new post, you are invited to read: https://www.melodyjacob.com/
Lovely photos...so peaceful. The photo of your granddaughter is quite lovely.
From another Canadian friend:
Hi dear Lady Lydia,
As I cleaned the house (my younger daughter working on her room), I listened to your latest broadcast
Books for the Home 4b
. How comforted I was by it!
discussing love comes softly
Especially the crescendo at the end - the stories of people just carrying on somehow knowing
"wait a while to see how it will work out"
"don't go on and on about your misfortunes"
doing your best, overcome, speak on the upside of everything,
"always best to edify"
"you've just to move ahead"
and especially to CARRY ON "she just had a feeling that God was going to help her and that things were going to get better"
Okay I will carry on!!!!! and also don't get wrapped up in comparison as well (as in the E Guest poem about Hard Times - there are people in my acquaintance who are doing this constantly making judgment calls about them being worse off than others - and then if I'm stoic (now showing all the cracks, putting best foot forward) concluding I am not of concern worthy, well! anyway!!! I was thinking they should hear this poem LOL!! but I also reflected on it for myself too, and advised myself to be careful too lest I fall into some of these pitfalls too)
Love
Carolyn
