I am happy that you showed a photo of your red dress. It is so pretty!
After watching this video, I was inspired to make quick sketches of my summer dresses. I had several more than I thought, and put them in a section of my wardrobe where they’ll be easily seen - and actually worn!
I completely agree with your comment that nobody likes to be TOLD what they should do, especially if the teller has an unappealing appearance, negative conversation or dictatorial manner.
To be gentle, kind, considerate and modest in your manner and clothing; to wear pretty and feminine dress, and have a genuine open smile, edifying conversation, and a way of listening that makes each individual feel valued and special - I think that would be a wonderful way to inspire and encourage other women.
True. It is one thing to claim to be a mentor but it won’t be effective if ladies aren’t drawn to our message. We have to look to ourselves first and remove any barriers that might prevent ladies from dressing up.
Hello, I just LOVE your dress- the color is stunning! What a lovely style. This type of clothing is new to me- in that I didn't grow up with homemade clothes and sadly liked to go along with the "fashions". However, after you've been sharing the styles and things you've made and worn, I realize just how blind I was to it all. Thank you for sharing this and I am going to be paying more attention to truly beautiful and modest clothing. 💜 P.s. Did you make that dress or did you buy it?
Mrs. Sherman, thank you for this fashion broadcast! I sat listening without even sewing today but I did pick up some fabric recently and have great plans for improvement! We must have grown up with similar sentiments around us that made us feel as though liking clothing and pretty things was shallow and unimportant. I agree with what you said and I always thought God made his world so beautiful why are we do shun beauty as though it’s so trite? Anything can be used for sin or wrong but to simply enjoy good things and thank God for them is something that makes life better. What good insight on how will young women even listen to older women if we all look bedraggled!! So true!
Earlier this year I read the book 'Dressing with Dignity' and found a recommendation for a post you had written for a blog that no longer exists. I am so glad I continued to search for you and that you have been producing your videos and posts here instead, you have edified many an afternoon and inspired me. Thank you especially for embedding your videos here, as the adverts on the platform website are interspersed with adverts that little eyes should not see. Thank you and God bless you.
That color looks lovely. I bet you have beautiful flowers that color blooming around the manse. Thank you. So true, I find longer flowy skirts also make me feel more feminine. When I wear denium skirts it's usually because I've got work to get done and am a bit focused. Funny, I find the same feeling with my morning cup of tea. I have herbal tea now (the caffine is too stimulating now that I am older), and when I use a pretty cup, my day is more delicate and thoughtful. Whereas I use a pottery type mug and am getting more done then the Lord's plan for me was, then I am over tired. LOL funny connection. Thanks for letting me share.
Dear Mrs. Sherman, I enjoyed listening today while unloading the dishwasher and cleaning up from breakfast. I see more young women covered in tattoos than ever before. I don’t know what the goal of coloring all over your skin is and I saw an article about toxins in tattoo ink and how it’s dangerous. We can continue to model modesty and beauty through our clothing. I’m getting ready to sort out my Fall wardrobe and put outfits together! Your friend, Gloria
Perfect comment!! I could say a great deal about this issue!!!! Maybe I will in the next video. Tattoos are so dangerous to the health of the immune system. Thankfully I’m in a climate that’s too cold in winter to show all the tattoos. But it summer they are bare skin so they can wear all those prints on the skin and show everyone. How did it come to this?

True wisdom for the older ladies! ❤️

I have added detail of the fushia outfit under the photo on the blog page.
