Best Housekeeping Aid

artist Irvin Ramsey Wiles

As  my laundry room has no door and is an extension of the kitchen, I use a screen to hide it when there is no time to clean it. Our mothers and grandmothers used to cover things they did not have time to sort through, with sheets or towels. I remember hurriedly covering  things that way when we had unexpected company. It was quite common among homemakers.

The other day some friends stopped in and I had a messy kitchen. Loaded the dishes in the dishpan and put it in the laundry room. Nice to know I'm not the only one! Have a great weekend.

I found one of those screens at a yard sale for a few dollars and bought it because I liked it. I never gave a thought what to do with it. I stored it in my sewing room. Now think I will employ it. However, I am one of those people that if the mess is out of sight, it's out of mind. I might get so used to not seeing the mess it may never get cleaned up.😄

it is for temporary situations when you have a construction area or are remiodeling, rarranging, and you need to block of the area for various reasons. one lady puts it around her painting hobby which she has on a little table in the living room. that way she wont have to oput it all away and get it out over and over again. Sewing, music, card making, or just in the throws of cleaning up something. in my case we have removed the shelves from the utility room and not finished putting everything in order.
