The Swing

The Swing by John George Brown 1831-1913

Someone made a very nice sturdy seat for my swing, but then we discovered that the branch is too weak for adults.

Only children under 11 may swing on it, but in the interim it is another yard ornament. I do so like the new plywood seat, all so nicely painted. It is a pity I am not allowed to sit on it.

As I am sorting through every minute thing or collection of things, I came across a wired vine.  I quickly retrieved it from the junk-in-the-trunk headed for the thrift store, cut it in half and wrapped it around the string.
