For the Lord's Day

Historical Photos from Pinterest

It was hard to find old photos of people inside the church services as most of the church photos were outside.

We have acapella music at church so I always like to hear the parts with the male & female voices. It is some of the purest music; it  plucks the  strings of the voice: Prepare to tear up a little as you hear this:

(Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.)

Lyrics

  1. 1. Come, ye disconsolate, where'er ye languish;
Come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel.
Here bring your wounded hearts; here tell your anguish.
Earth has no sorrow that heav'n cannot heal.
  2. 2. Joy of the desolate, Light of the straying,
Hope of the penitent, fadeless and pure!
Here speaks the Comforter, tenderly saying,
"Earth has no sorrow that heav'n cannot cure."
  3. 3. Here see the Bread of Life; see waters flowing
Forth from the throne of God, pure from above.
Come to the feast of love; come, ever knowing
Earth has no sorrow but heav'n can remove.
I thought I would show some ladies church clothes too, which from pinterest:

This is my favorite a cappella song. We used it as a communion hymn kneeling around the altar.

Beautiful. I wish all churches would return to a cappella singing.
