Four Days at The Inn

Please enjoy getting your home in order, while you listen to Homemaking Radio today. I talk about making my home into an Inn for visiting family members, and ideas for keeping an upbeat, positive mind while enduring all these crazy politicians.

My first  five star review from one of the guests:

I talked a little about this issue from 1991:

I read this scripture:

2 Corinthians 4:8-10

 We are afflicted in every way,
 but not crushed;
 perplexed,
 but not driven to despair;
persecuted,
but not forsaken;
 struck down,
but not destroyed;
always carrying in the body the death of Jesus,
so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.

What I was wearing during the broadcast:

Cotton dress from 1980 McCalls Laura Ashley pattern.

 (back ties)

With apron:

With olive corduroy jacket:

With rose jacket:

With cotton cardigan:

Enjoyed your broadcast very much. You have a gift for looking at things from a different angle and thereby causing me to use my thinking to do the same. Thank you!

It was nice to hear about your lovely weekend. It sounded so pleasant!!! I listened this morning as I dusted my house. I was wondering what suggestions you might have to make homeschooling more fun for my 8 year old son. He does not like school for the most part. I would like to make it a little less mundane for him. I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions! Hope you have a great week!

I cannot express what your comments mean to me, and I understand also you are taking time out of your busy life to make thoughtful remarks. They also provide subject matter for me, which I hope to address in a post or on a video or both, soon.

You are such a good mother and grandmother! Can you adopt me and my girls?! :) I hope you had a fantastic weekend. That sounded like so much fun.
Thank you, as always, for your lovely encouragement! I just love 'hearing' from you. God bless you! P.S. We are locked down here, too, but I had the busiest social life since all of this started. I'm always ready to throw wide my doors for company. xxoo

Hello Lydia,

I am so thankful for each homemaker video. It is like inviting a friend over when I tune into these broadcasts. I am glad you sacrifice time out of your day to encourage us in our homes. And yes, home is the best place to be.😊The scripture you shared in the book of Corinthians is one I am thinking on a lot in these interesting, challenging times. God has certainly secured our Liberty in His Word! What an anchor it is to our soul!

I really enjoyed preparing a healthful, delicious dinner while you talked. I try not to rush through things; I found your visit long enough to finish at a good, steady pace. I liked hearing about calm village. It sounded like a wonderful time.

Blessings,
Holly

Thanks for giving us an update on everything at Calm Village! I enjoyed everything you spoke about. One thing I've done with old magazine articles that I wanted to keep is I put them in relevant books. So the article on Anne is in my Anne book. When a mag had an article about making maple sugar, I tucked it into Miracle on Maple Hill. And sometimes I see a picture that reminds me of something we read, and I glue the picture into the front of the book.

The other day I bought a book from 1932, and the cover was so ugly that I searched for a picture of the original dust jacket and printed it, glueing it right onto the cover with a glue stick.

Thanks for your video! I cleaned out kitchen cupboards while listening.

Janine these are brilliant ideas. I’ve done something similar with old patterns.
