The dress I was going to make is finished and you can see it on this post. You may want to check that post once in awhile for updates, as I'm in the process of sewing a pink jacket to match that dress.

I must say your new header painting is just remarkably lovely....my grandmother as a young woman went on outings like this with male and female friends...a big group would have fun outside in a special place in nature. People don't do this any more...how much they miss...I had a taste of it with my cousins in the 40's and 50's...I guess TV took over from there...and working outside the home for women....give me the old ways...LM

I had never heard of this artist, although I am aware of seeing some of his pictures in the media. He lived only about twenty miles from where I live, and my family have lived for untold generations. The paintings are wonderful, thank you for drawing my attention to them.
What a lovely painting!! It looks like a picnic for several single women and a couple of men with a married couple with the two children, or the children are the grandchildren of the clergyman and his wife. Perhaps the preacher-couple are trying to encourage matrimony and arranged this picnic. It is lovely. Thanks for sharing.
notice the couple on the upper right in the shade.
Yes, I noticed the couple off to themselves. Looks like the matrimony plan is working! :-)
