Near the end of this video I suggest the best social distancing is putting a lot of distance between you and the major news media, for various reasons.

Hi Mrs.Sherman! I was so thrilled to see a book on how to draw flowers! That's just what I need as I journal and doodle. What a great idea for something pleasant to teach the children. I think I'll start today! We can all get together and watch a youtube video on how to draw flowers, pausing, and discussing as we draw along together. Teaching how to draw is so much better than leaving them to go at it alone. We all have seen the innocent drawings 3,4,5, and 6year olds of potatoe shaped people with sticks for arms. I listened to the whole thing while I drank two hot cups of green tea without sugar. Now I'm off to the garden. Thank you, love you! Have a blessed day as per usual 😊

Dear Lydia,

Very blessed and happy to see and hear from you again today. Thank you for the beneficial talk about the importance of “work.” I appreciate the biblical perspective you expressed about working and the richness of life it brings to us. Our great God and Creator is always at work and we have been made in His image.

I remember times as a busy, homeschooling mother of 4 when I was overwhelmed with work! A lick and a promise with some cleaning jobs is all I had time for with small children. Nowadays, as an empty nester, I appreciate and enjoy the time I can take to get my work done. I will have to say your Homemaking advice over the years has really helped me fine tune things around here.🙂

I have several “Learn how to Draw “ books. I am going to be digging those out and sketching some pictures in the corners of my letters to loved ones this week! I had forgotten all about them until you shared that with us today.

Grateful for all my work, Lydia, and grateful for your encouragement.

Blessings,
Holly

Mrs. Sherman. Today I made a few bookmarks with construction paper and spring stickers for our Bibles and some for gifts while I listened.

You have inspired me to be productive during this time. Something just clicked for me and I realized it is so very important to not let anything else be taken away from us, most importantly our time!! Time that should be spent for our families, nurturing them.

God bless you and your readers
Mrs.O 💐

I listened to this talk this evening while I tidied up the kitchen, set the table, and cooked supper. It was a good one! I like it when you share books with us, and I especially like the next installment of Pioneer Ribbons. :)

I also appreciate your ideas for homeschoolers. I agree with you that it is of utmost importance to teach children manners and cleanliness, but I admit sometimes I fall short in this area because so much time and energy is devoted to academic pursuits. Thank you for reminding me of what really matters most in the long run. :)

Working my way through current & back episodes of homemaker radio, a little at a time. I actually mostly listen when I take a break from work with my tea, and I take notes into a lovely floral journal. Enjoyed this episode--thank you so much!

Dear Mrs. Sherman,
I love when you speak on politics and the media. I have shut all media down to my mind. I’m strictly focusing on what matters at home. Being a mother and wife centered on home. It is the best place to be I totally agree with you! As we see the world panicking and hoarding at stores I’m able to remain calm knowing I have more than enough here thank God, because I am a homemaker! Freezers have meat from planning like usual. Pantry is stocked because homemakers always take a look and know what they need. This toilet paper and paper goods shortage in my area is terrible. But homemakers know if the absolute need arises we have got plenty of clean rags, water, and common sense to see our families through. We know how to stretch food and not let anything go to waste. It’s a matter of common sense and being frugal which we all are already! I made a casserole tonight for dinner and the canned dough biscuits. So my husband will take the left overs for lunch and the left over biscuits I’ll make bacon and fried egg sandwiches for breakfast. If anyone has a simple roll or biscuit recipe I’d love to have it. Yeast rolls? I’d also love a cinnamon roll recipe. I want to rely less on stores for these items. God bless you all ladies and God bless you and Mr. S Lydia and your children and families. God is about a work ladies! Mrs. Sherman I think I finally figured out how to post comments after all this time! I researched and made changes in my settings. I think my comment will post. I love when you tell us you love us at the end of your video. I love you too dear lady! Kind friend and gentle encourager. Fondly... Mrs. G

Mrs. G, I make this simple biscuit recipe all the time. It's the one from the old plaid Better Homes and Gardens cookbook:

Stir 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tsp sugar, 1 tbsp baking powder and 1/2 tsp cream of tartar into 2 cups flour.

Cut in 1/2 cup butter.

Mix in 2/3 cup milk, or a little more if you need it.

Pat down and cut into rounds. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes or until nicely browned.

You can substitute a little of the white flour for whole wheat, but they don't turn out as fluffy.
