Hello Ladies,
I was beginning to wonder if I would ever sit down again to talk to you. However I found half an hour between responsibilities, and tried to pack it with food for thought.
I covered these things:
~What language shall I borrow~
~A hint for keeping your freedom in social situations~
~History in Linda Lichter's book "Simple Social Graces"--women weren't "just a housewife" and the home was not a hotel.~
~A deeper look at the faith-based movie "Princess Cut"--going to friends and authorities other than parents
~Parents need to have more confidence in their own responsibilities to their children, young or older, and not outsource this ministry to others.
I crept out to have a secret sip, so I feel quite accomplished.

I don't remember if Life with Father had them on a time schedule, but I know that the father in Cheaper by the Dozen did. The movie is okay, but the book is fantastic! We listened on tale 3 times over the years. I also have a book by the son, Frank Gilbreth Je called Time Out for Happiness that tells more of thei story and it's excellent. Enjoyed this video as usual!!!

That is exactly what I needed to hear. Before my daughter was born, I spent countless hours pouring over parenting books, because I just so badly wanted to do a good job..to train up my child in the way she should go so that when she is old, she will not depart from it. Finally, I got so tired, I decided to stop and just trust that if God entrusted her precious soul to me, He would equip me with the wisdom I need to train her. Truly, "of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh..Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." -Ecclesiastes 12:12-13
