More Than Conquerors and Other Things

Welcome Dear Ones,

Thank you for visiting today and for all you do to encourage me.

In my broadcast today I talked about this amusing sign that I made:

I walked in this layer of fog today,

...and tried this 5 minute seated exercise with Lucy.

I found this frothy coffee (in the picture at the top of this post) recipe quite amusing:

Gently roll or scrunch up 1 small white paper napkin or face tissue and place in a tea cup. Sprinkle cinnamon over the top.  This is a cinnamon roll made the same way.
I had these around the house one day when I wanted to "stage" it for a visitor. The scent was great in musty corners of The Manse.

I hope you enjoy the broadcast today:

Homemaker’s Personal Response to World and Personal Crisis (Video)

Hello Dear Ladies,

Look at that sky. I have a game I play called "If the world is so bad" and here is today's question: Why is that sky there so blue with all the pretty clouds. Why does the air smell so sweet out here today?
I am trying to show that there is something of the opposite always going on that is good.

In the video I shared the calendar you can get on Amazon of some of the paintings of Edmund Blair Leighton.

This is my outfit today. I didn’t have time to display it on the dress form.

In the video I mentioned two songs, for which I leave links here so you can listen. They start out with the national language and then sing the last verse in English.

Here is the rugby team from the Fiji islands singing "We Have Overcome" after they win a match. They give all the glory to God.

The words are:
We have overcome, by the blood of the lamb, and the Word of the Lord.

Here is the New Zealand rugby team singing "Sweep Over My Soul"

 The words are:
My rest is complete,
And I sit at Jesus Feet,
Sweet Spirit sweep over my soul.

Sing more, ladies, especially during trials, and sing loud.

Here is the pretty older lady I spoke of who was demonstrating inexpensive makeup. At the end she encourages women to look after themselves so that they will be more able to be kind and look after others.

I'm honored you come here to listen to the broadcast and I hope it edifies you.
Today I talked about learning to respond to crisis both in the world and in the home.
Please enjoy your home while you listen:

Influence, Literature, Daily Living (Video)

Hello Ladies,

I hope in whatever situation you are in, you are, as Elizabeth said in Pride and Prejudice, "enduring it as best we can" and looking for ways to do well at home.

I sat outside to talk to you and may try it again with a future post.

The ground has been ploughed and I'm liking the look of it.

Today I talked about living daily at home and the principle of being quiet and busy at home.

Sweet Solitude by Edmund Blair Leighton

I hope you enjoy the broadcast and get a lot of things done while listening:

Sense of Well-Being (Video)

Be sure and check my Pinterest  for more pictures like this.

I have shown these views before.  Today they were especially peaceful.

Today I read from another Eric Sloane book “Once Upon a Time” about the making of paper and the careful way of writing even a list.

I spoke of stability in today’s broadcast. It might be a quality to study and enter into your journal.

Weather and Mood, Plus Other Subjects (Video)

I hope you are all looking on the bright side and enjoying the home.

I read from these books on weather by Eric Sloane.

In these books, the author stated he first wanted to paint clouds and sky scenes and he quickly became interested in weather.

Scene of The Manse today.

I always like to show what I wore at home when at leisure, with apron for work , and with jacket or coat when I need to do any business in town:

Dress: London Times, $20 purchase at Home Goods; apron: Hobby Lobby, bolero style cardigan- WalMart.

Please enjoy being home while you listen:

The verses I read today were from Colossians 1:9-12
