Pumpkin Season

The light green or aqua pumpkins are really a squash called sweet meat.

Non-edible decorative gourds are used for birdhouses and other crafts.

Love the artwork Lydia, thank you for sharing.

I wonder about those "Sweet Meat" pumpkins, are they good to eat or just for decor?

If they are good for eating, do you have any recipes?

Blessings, Janet W.

Janet I have never tasted it. I heard from someone who had, that it was quite good.

Lydia,

If you want a rather spectacular pumpkin that will win prizes in the local agricultural show and is fantastic to cook with, you can't go past 'Queensland Blue'. name says it all.

if you grow ornamental gords, you might like to also try your hand at exhibiting; the larger, the more colourful and decorative, the more interesting the shape, the better.
