"I was not interested in seeing large cities or major amusement centers, so I stayed in the country towns and drove long stretches on the highway. I did visit a couple of large cities, but found it interesting that, compared to my country, police and sirens were not as prominent. People generally did not yell out and Americans seemed to be a relatively quiet, even-tempered people who basically minded their own business."
