Dress Well at Home for More Purpose, The Homemaker's Glass is Full

Native American (First Nation) Long House

Prints of paintings on the walls behind me are:

The Recital by Sandra Kuck

This is a commercial picture I got at Target way back in the early 1980's.  I have never figured out the artists name so I am putting it here to see if any of you know who this is or how to find this painting or others by the artist. It is depicted in the first photo at the top of this post, behind the group of flowers.
Here is the name up close:

One of my all time favorite Lenten Hymns is O Sacred Head, the Passion Chorale is so evocative of the suffering of our Lord.
We drove up the coast today. We were going to go to Cracker Barrel but there were about 75 people outside and Lord knows how many inside. I'll just have to order Richard his pecan divinity. We ended up at Applebees and it was good.
Weather was lovely. The sun was shining on the ocean and it was so nice driving along the coast.
Hope all is well.

Congratulations for being the first comment, Ann. Keep on driving up the coast and you might get closer to us! We have driven the coast from Oregon to California several times and really enjoyed it.

Hello, Dear Lydia. I was so happy and blessed to hear another homemaker video broadcast today. It was just the right motivation I needed to get at things I’ve been putting off. However, today, I am “rolling up my sleeves” to tackle the job that’s been looming over me for quite some time. I have a habit of collecting cookbooks from the thrift stores and, after making just a few recipes from it, I file it away and forget about it. I’m planning on purging my shelves of these today. They are becoming nothing more than dust collectors.

I used to have the same creative writing book from Abekah. I have gotten rid of so many homeschool books, wishing I would have retained more of them. Hopefully I won’t feel the same way about the cookbooks I’m ridding myself of today?😏

Monday is usually a catch-up day from the weekend for me, so I especially appreciate listening to these on those mornings. Thank you so much for faithfully producing these videos for the homemaker. It truly does make our work more pleasant as we listen.

Blessings,
Holly

Thank you, Holly. I try to address things that I am personally confronted with in the home, and hope they resonate with other homemakers. In this video the "getting started" was an issue. Homemakers are surrounded with so many things to do and often go to bed thinking about the tasks looming before them in the morning. If we can put that all out of our minds temporarily and concentrate on getting dressed and feeling presentable, some of the things are less formidable.

I listened to this video once again as I cooked supper. I found what you said about the native longhouses to be really interesting - I too find the native peoples of North America fascinating. They were so separated from the Old World, that they did everything differently. As a part of our homeschooling we learn about the different groups of native peoples that used to live in Canada, and we read some of their legends as well. We have a book of Eskimo fairy tales which my youngest child just loved and read to herself over and over.

I also wanted to say that I like it when you share homeschooling resources, and I agree with you that one of the best parts of homeschooling is that we can make it a much more gentle and pleasant process than what the kids in school go through.
