Lydia,

I cannot even tell you what you mean to me. I've read your blog for years (since it's inception), but never leave comments. I agree with so much of what you say and everything you're doing.

I grew up in a home where my mother was the homemaker - and I mean the ULTIMATE homemaker. There is absolutely nothing that sweet woman cannot do. Now it makes me wonder if I ever told her that - ***note to self: call her TODAY and tell her***

My husband and I have been married 37 years. Most of that time I have been a home-maker, but while my husband started a new business I went back to work. My youngest child was a teenager and I thought it was 'time'. After all, he's almost grown, doesn't need me, etc etc.

The one thing I would stress to mothers is that those teen years are CRITICAL and while you think they are 'young adults' they still need you. I can never get that back, and honestly that is my ONE TRUE regret in life. That teenager is now married and has a child of his own. He brushes it off when I apologize to him, but I truly, truly was needed at home and was not.

I don't want other mothers making that mistake.

Lastly, I'd like for you to address the 'guilt' that I know some women feel about not working outside the home in a traditional job. While we are grandparents now and my husband prefers me to be at home (as do I), I still sometimes feel guilty that we are nearing retirement and I could be helping him. I am guessing there are a lot of ladies out there that feel this way.

Once again, I listen to you every single day and 'carry' you from room to room listening to your words of wisdom.

Hello! I found today's video very timely as it is Election Day in Canada for Prime Minister. It is terribly easy to get caught up in all the political drama when it is everywhere. Your video really encouraged me and helped me gain proper perspective on it all. When I focus on my Savior all else pales!
While I listened today I got my ironing done and cleaned some upstairs rooms of our home while I carried the laptop room to room with me.

Thank you for all you do.
Blessings,
Liisa
