Homemaking Develops Knowledge, Skills, Talent; Look After Your Mind
Hello Dear Ladies,
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."
I have owned that very same American Girls Handy Book for many years. I remember the article about a walking club! I think that might be a really nice idea right now when people can't get together indoors as usual. Thank goodness the great outdoors is not closed. :)
Hello Lydia~ I have enojyed your Radio show since you started. And many of the talks are my favorites, but this particular show is my top favorite. You touched on many dear topics to me. Such as: finding the joy in doing activities (whether you are by yourself or have others), and what you feed your mind.
Can you share a couple examples of what you have found as uplifting and happy that feed your mind? I would love to enjoy books that others have found "happy" and uplifting. I can think of a few things I want to donate since these are heavy topics or just not lifting me up but capture my attention.
And your walking club! I have shared I live in the country too and it's just my husband and I. I struggle many days with being a housewife and not having others to "visit" or share the joy of homemaking. So it can weigh on me. But you uplfited me today!
The chlldlike heart that we have to enjoy tea, go for a walk and fill our hearts with things that are beautiful...just filled me with joy!
I love a walking club. I walk every morning, not 3 miles!!! maybe 1/4 of a mile. But I enjoy it.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Peace be with you, Mrs. Dee Peterson
PS I started listening this morning after breakfast. My husband was helping and enjoyed listening to you as well. (not the whole time, but the few minutes we were cleaning up.).
You hit upon something that I call a"churchese" comment, "Get out of your comfort zone !" And it is usually always given by a woman that has not chosen homemaking as her career and wants everyone to participate in what she has a heart to do. And I am not being ungracious here, just stating what becomes a catch phrase to make you feel guilty if you are not involved doing all kinds of mission trips or service church work above everything else.
I loved hearing about the walking club also. Thank you for encouraging us Lydia!
You have definitely made an impact on me Mrs. Sherman. Today I listened well cleaning the kitchen and doing some laundry and cleaning the bathrooms. You have made a difference in my world. God bless you. Laura

Hi Lydia! Will you be doing any written blog posts? For me reading is easier than listening. Just wondering 😊
Blessings!
Thanks for reminding me. I'll try to add a written post every other post.
I would love to see more written posts also.
I would appreciate it too.

Dee, several other ladies say their Mr. is listening. Maybe I should include more politics ;-)
