I so enjoyed you reading the stories of your childhood on the homestead in Alaska.
Your idea about reading the Bible, the Constitution and serving tea to government intruders was brilliant! I thought I would turn purple from laughing so hard. I giggled throughout the night and had a hard time trying to sleep.😆
When I wake in the morning, it takes me sometime to become alert. I try to have a hot cup of tea before dressing. There is always outdoor chores to attend to even before breakfast and it’s futile to wear pretty clothes to do that. I’m often drenched and muddy from the dog or work in the garden. However a shower, pretty clothes, hair combed and make-up applied after outside work is done.
Thank you again for homeschooling us again.

Dear Lydia,

Excellent content, information , and advice in today’s homemaker video!! I will be listening to the last 2 broadcasts again tomorrow. I learn and catch even more the second time around. Thank you for ending these talks with your book. I am thoroughly enjoying these readings. I loved the comment your father made about “ just breathing the air.” How wonderful to be taken back in time to your childhood on the Alaskan homestead.🙂 I managed to bake a Bundt cake and craft a homemade card during today’s program. Thank you for your consistency in producing these timeless videos and encouraging homemakers to be a wise steward of their time and talents.

God Bless,

I just love when you read from your book about your life growing up, Lydia! What wonderful stories and I think you are such a good writer! Thank you also for the keen political advice about entrance into our homes, etc., and I laughed out loud about the tea and scripture verses scaring away any illegitimate "officials"! 😊 Today I got ready for the day and prepared breakfast while listening. Thanks for your words of encouragement. ♥️

Thank you for all you do! I don't usually comment, but just had to now that you are reading to us from your marvelous book! Your childhood sounds like it was so much fun.
You are a great motivation and inspiration to me. God bless you!

Wow. I absolutely LOVE the coat dress you are wearing!!! It's so pretty, looking very festive for autumn. I have a couple of the Gracie teacups. I love that they're safe for microwaves too because I often get busy and forget about my tea/coffee and instead of having to dump it, I can just zap it in the microwave.

The dress you are wearing today is so pretty, Lydia, and it looks warm, too.

I agree with what you said about wearing a cap to bed...our old farmhouse is very drafty and cold, and for years now I've been wearing a tuque to bed on the coldest nights (sorry, I don't know what they call those hats in the US). It doesn't matter how many blankets you have, on a really cold night if your head is exposed, you're going to feel cold. Another thing I do is sometimes fall asleep with the heating pad...I know you're not supposed to do that but I do. It's the only way I can fall asleep sometimes...I feel the cold so badly since I left my youth behind me.
