Nature Walk

I hope you are all doing well.

I have been with the younger children on a leisurely morning nature walk.
We collected leaves, tree cones, small stones shaped like houses and hearts, and wild apples.  We would have walked further but stopped far too long to sample the juicy blackberries.

I will try to visit with you soon.

Hello Mrs. Sherman,

This is off topic for today's post, but I feel it is important enough and not sure anyone would see it on the old posts where it belongs.

While reading through some of your older blog post I have noticed a few women comment that they cannot or don't want to leave their out of the home employment until they have children. One mentioned working through pregnancy then quitting a week or two before birth, and another particularly sad comment was of a woman who suffered the pain of losing a baby before birth then went back to work for the employer 2 days later and struggling to deal with it all.

I just wanted to make a comment to remind women that when they are pregnant they already HAVE a child and should be home caring for the child and themselves instead of waiting until the birth. I realize a great many people no longer use The King James version of the Bible, but it is important to remember that KJV as well as other old books speaks of pregnancy as "being with child". A pregnant woman is a woman WITH a child. How easy it has become these days to ignore this very important fact.

Thank you for your blog, words of wisdom, home making, and craft ideas. It's like an oasis in a desert. ~~ Linda

Very good points, Linda. Besides the KJV, the English Standard Version and a couple others, some in other languages , use the words “with child.”

I have wanted to do this for quite a while, but I just thought you'd like to know what a wonderful encouragement you are to me. My husband and I have eleven girls, fifteen children total, but only two now under the age of eighteen. I feel you and I are kindred spirits and when I listen to the things you share about enjoying being home, about being truly feminine, etc., it gives me permission to walk out this life to God's fullest right here where I live (especially as I am becoming more "vital").

My girls often catch snippets as I am playing your videos while working in the kitchen, doing laundry, etc. and they enjoy it, too.

I bless God for you as you are are truly that older, Titus 2 woman I have needed. Thank you for all you do :)

It is always a gift when someone as busy as you will take the time to write such a long thoughtful compliment. But the compliment goes to you for the personal volunteer investment you have placed in your family.

Dear Lydia, I hope you are continuing to enjoy your family! However, I have to admit I really and truly miss your new videos. I do listen to older ones sometimes for company and inspiration - and your lovely soft voice.
see you soon !
