Normal Things.

Pictures of my outing today.
Stores open, fully stocked. Parking lots full. People everywhere.

I did not get a picture of the full parking lots or the fabric store, post office, and other places where people were doing business.

I tried to avoid taking pictures of people, so I waited til I found areas that no one was shopping in, and I stayed in the store quite awhile to get these pictures.  It is not considered proper to take pictures of people without their permission, if the pictures are going to be published on the web, and that is why the people aren't in the pictures. But there were people everywhere in this grocery store. It took quite a bit of effort to avoid getting anyone in the photos.

It's lovely to see stocked shelves again!
I think some are starting to realize there may not have been such a crisis after all.
Have a great weekend!

Yes you are RIGHT and there wouldn't have been such a problem with the stores if people had not panicked and raided the place before the shipment was due!! Usually everything gets a bit low anyway before the trucks come. But it was interesting yesterday to see everyone so calm and smiling and shopping the fresh produce, and their carts were not overloaded.

Lydia, another great video. You shared so much wisdom about faith. Our groceries in AL haven't looked like yours in weeks! what a beautiful market. We ordered groceries online from Whole Foods this week and received our first delivery today. I admit I kind of liked it. I remember in " the olden days" of the 50's and early 60's my grandmother ordered from the neighborhood grocery and they delivered to her back porch food packed in a cardboard box.

Yes we had delivery too but my mother sent a list with my dad when he went to work and he dropped it off at the grocer and picked the boxes up on his way home

It's reassuring to see these photos of your grocery store looking well stocked, and seeing that at least in some places things are returning to normal.

I haven't been shopping in almost two weeks due to illness. At that time, it was alarming to see the empty shelves. I don't think I ought to go out again too soon, because although I am feeling better now, I don't know what it was I had, and my illness involved enough difficulty breathing that I went into the emergency room at one point. They did not think I had covid-19 because I had not been out of the country, but I think that was foolish. They gave me a prescription for an asthma puffer, which I did not fill as I didn't want to enter a pharmacy. I've been staying home since then (a week and a half ago) and I'm feeling very much better now, my lungs feel almost back to normal, just a little out of breath when I read out loud.

Fortunately, my local small town grocery store is offering free delivery to everyone who needs it right now, so I think I will take advantage of that and get some more milk and eggs as we will run out soon. I won't re-enter a public place until I am sure I am 100% well. In the meantime I'm baking bread and using up what we have in the house. If you keep a well stocked pantry, it's amazing what you can come up with if you're creative.
