Lydia, it was a real blessing to see your video this evening. I have been feeling poorly the past few days in both body and mind, and it was pleasant to listen to your cheerful voice. Your colourful dress is very cheerful as well!
Rosehip oil - I've used that in the past as a facial moisturizer, it's lovely.
I too collect rosehips in the fall, only I don't make syrup or jelly, I make tea. It's a good natural source of vitamin C, and the tea has a very nice fruity, sour flavour. I've bought rosehip tea before but the kind you buy never seems to have any taste.
I enjoyed watching the “unboxing” of your special treasures from friends today! Thank you for sharing it with us. I felt like a little child at Christmas waiting to see what was inside!๐While you spoke, I cooked dinner, made up some convenient, timesaving baking mixes, and then baked a carrot cake for dessert.
The organized format of your talks is another special feature I have come to appreciate. Almost every edition is divided up into 3-4 categories. In an ever changing world, it’s nice to know we can come here to recharge and refuel with the same consistent, sound teaching and encouragement we’ve learned to expect from homemaker radio.
Dear Lydia, Today I listened to Values in Home Living (1/28/21)and even more than usual it felt as if you were speaking directly to me. I'm a widow with no children and enjoying my home more than ever. As you talked I was polishing my front doorknob and doorplate for the first time in forty-five years. It's going to take awhile to remove the tarnish but it feels so good to see it begin to shine. I feel like a kid with a new toy. Dividing my day has been so helpful. Knowing that mornings are for focusing on the house calms and cheers me so. I make progress and am ready to get started again tomorrow. Not reading the news has also helped. Thank you for "permission" to stop, such good advice. Your smile always reminds me of Mama's, so pretty. Thank you so much for being there for me, for encouraging and comforting me. God bless you and yours. Lynne Hamlin
