Cheerful Thinking

Please ignore the weather and enjoy your various tasks at home while you hear the broadcast today.

I've used this lovely statement in Proverbs 12:26:
Anxiety weighs down the heart,
But a kind word cheers it up.

Also I have attempted to explain several ways to keep the mind free of anxiety, and mentioned just a few, such as:

Do it yourself, as much as possible, or at least give it a try
Do something lighthearted
Create your own crosswords for your children and grandchildren, using memories of times shared together, special family phrases and family traits.
Learn things, even if just one lesson each: music, singing, speech, writing, art, exercise, architecture, sewing, and much more.

Do something excellent to improve the dwelling or to give your family a special holiday at home.
Develop a personal drive for excellence in what you do at home.
Discover mood lifters or mood levellers in the senses: sight, sound, scent, etc. for your daily life, when you are working, walking outside, or creating.
Keep your mind off the weather and on to your list.

Please make it your aim to listen less to the things that cause anxiety and participate more in the things that help you really thrive beyond what you ever planned.

Miss Lydia, Thank you for another wonderful post. I was able to clean out my kitchen cabinets during this video--its amazing how many crumbs and how much dust accumulates in there even though the dishes are always clean! Who knew?? :-) I also eliminated alot of dishes that we simply have not used in the past year and called the Salvation Army to come and get them. I find that I am able to think better and be less anxious now that I have more space in my cabinets....I think I will tape some bible verses in some of those now-empty spaces so that I see them every time I open the cabinets....im excited to do that!! I love how soft-spoken you are and I am striving to be more soft-spoken and less apt to respond to every single thing. Thank you for all that you do ma'am please do keep it up!! Fondly, Rafika :-)

Hello from your devoted homemaker listener in Wisconsin. I have been with my family the past few days vacationing near the Apostle Islands. I am quite elated to find 3 homemaker broadcasts to listen to now that I am back home!😊 Each time I am away from home, I realize more and more how much I want to be at home! I actually couldn’t wait to get back!! There’s really nothing out there that allures me. And, while it was nice to be with the family, I am ready to get caught up and back into my routine. Having 3 episodes to listen to today should help me get A LOT done easily and happily. Thank you in advance, Lydia.

❤️Holly

Dear Lady Lydia

Thank you for your latest episode full of inspiration for this Belgian homemaker who is always in need of some cheering up. Not that my work at the house is so dreadfull but it is the outside world that comes creeping in with its panic and fear and chaos... I can not help but thinking this is going so terribly wrong...
Making my little home into a cosy, silent and safe haven is now the most important task and joy for me and your videos are the extra support I need to keep me going.

Rainy greetings from Belgium. Maggie

Thank you for the kind encouragement and advice in this talk, Lydia. I listened to it while I re-organized the cold cellar, which was quite a task!

Dear Lydia,
Thank you so much for talking about anxiety. It is a great comfort to me to have God's word. Jesus said "I am with you alway" Matthew 28:20

Sincerely
Rose

I loved how you went into depth about the phillipians "whatever" verse. I have that scents-ational book you mentioned but I've yet to read it. I'll have to dig it out!
