Prayer at Home

Enjoy being home while you listen:

Summary of Today's Talk:

*Thinking about some things while washing dishes
*Learn what times of the day are the best for you.
*Adjust your time to accommodate the most urgent things.
*Don't put your plans for the home on hold when hearing reports of trouble.
*Develop the ritual of being still
*Develop the habit of going for a pleasant, leisurely walk every day. If weather does not permit, walk within your house.

Hebrews 10:39:
But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.

Dear Lydia, you had such a gentle tone and demeanor today, it was different than your usually gentleness. I found it so soothing to listen to you.
Well, "we" got many things accomplished today during the time I listened. My main weekly house blessing, my daily one load of laundry, the plants all watered, and lunch made.
Your encouragment to sit for 5 min to help our mind and body to be in the same place is something I find I do through the day. The morning time after I get up (before I sit in my favorite chair for prayer time) I just walk out onto the little veranda we have and say good morning to the birds and the sun. It is quite spectacular to listen to everyone excited the sun is coming up.
My daily walks are short, I like to call them a "stroll". I take a stroll in the morning and one in the evening after supper. No more than 10 min each. I find the gentle stroll much better for my body as I am progressing to the other side of the new season in life.
Thank you for your topics today. I am off for a short rest and then a bit of ironing.
God's peace be with you, Dee

Dear Lydia,

I so appreciate the time sacrificed in your days to encourage and uplift us. We definitely need to be exhorting and comforting one another in times like these, and you do this so well.😊My prayer and Bible reading become a blessed quiet hour for me. As you said, the day doesn’t go as well without it. The Victoria magazine sounds appealing… even if I do live out in a log house in the big woods of Wisconsin! Learning to present simple meals with a bit of flare will be a great help. I love looking at pictures of flower gardens, embellished entrees, and lovely table settings to get ideas I can incorporate into my simple abode. Since I am elderly, too, I guess I can enjoy the photos of elaborate homes without coveting what others have. 😉God is good and we are very blessed. Besides, a tent or a cottage, why should I care? He’s building a mansion for me over there. That, of course, is from the great hymn, “A Child of the King.”

Blessings,❤️Holly

I put away the groceries, cut up a watermelon, gave everyone their daily fruit, made lunch, and for the last 15 minutes of the video lay down. We haven't gone walking for weeks because of the heat but I hope to tonight around 7:30. When we go visit my mom and brother we play board games and someone always puts on a station or video that plays rain and thunderstorms. We started doing it when we played Clue and now we do it every week. My husband likes to put on a nature video for our cats 🐱
