Dear Mrs. Sherman, I recently discovered your homemaking radio show and I really enjoyed listening to you while I cleaned. I quit my job 14 years ago to raise my two beautiful children and found it was not a popular thing to do in today’s society. It is so nice to find other people who value the same things that you do- God and family. I feel so lucky and much happier that I can slow down and enjoy my home/children/husband. I truly believe in your advice on dressing up, putting on an apron, and knowing your work is important. I also find that my attitude affects everyone and I have the power to make this home happy! My greatest compliment was when my first year college student told me she loved coming home to get a nice dinner and rest in her own bed. I also liked how you pointed out that your children always need you even when they are “grown” as I only have one left at home. You are so sweet and such a good role model- thank you so much for giving such great motherly advice to someone who did not grow up in a happy home or have good role models. Please continue to make your content😊

I think the apple blossom tea cup is my favorite in your collection! I loved seeing the seasonal umbrella on your wall next to the lovely floral arrangement on top of your piano. I don’t have a mantle to decorate, so I use the top of my piano to welcome the change of seasons with my decor as well.
When friends disappoint us, it’s always a good idea to not be overwhelmed by it as you said. When I am feeling somewhat emotional, I will tackle some type of job involving sorting and organizing. It really helps to not be sidelined by our emotions and keep on with the responsibilities God has given us. Thank you for pointing this out today in your talk.

Dear Lydia, I enjoy listening to you while I work - today you came along to the bathrooms while I cleaned them! I have been making a list for the day as you suggest. My plan looks like this: Shower/get ready Bible & prayer Breakfast Start laundry Walk Clean Homeschool(my last child is in high school and only needs me for some of his lessons now) lunch Calls/email/paperwork (and finish homeschool) Rest/fun prep supper supper family time prep for bed/bed (This doesn't always happen, but generally it does. I need to work on actually doing the rest/fun part though! But at least it's in the plan:))
Often I listen to you while I make dinner, fold laundry, clean, etc. I really appreciated your comment about friendships on this video, that sometimes a good friend will just stop talking to you for unknown reasons, all of a sudden. This has happened to me on more than one occasion and I always imagine that I've done something wrong and spend an inordinate amount of time and energy trying to figure the situation out. But people are frail and I need to not let these situations derail me. I'm afraid I'm not very good at it! I would appreciate any more thoughts/videos on the topic of friendships as these seem to be different now that I'm getting older. Bless you for your sweet positive encouragement! It is greatly appreciated!
Good morning from Alabama! Today I was listening to your video posted last evening ( the Handibooks for boys and girls) when it disappeared! The entire blogpost is just gone. Do you know what happened? I was enjoying it so much as I changed the sheets on two beds, and was learning so much. You are quite creative and you have inspired me over the years and reinvigorated my love of home and hearth. I do hope you can repost this . Fondly, Marianne
