The Book of Looks by Lorraine Johnson, 1983
I liked quite a few of the "looks" in this book and the fact they were made from natural fibres. Some of the fashions were not to my liking but it was a keeper for the other designs.

Hello Lydia, I’m not sure if my comment is working on your blog. I just wanted you to know how much I look forward to your videos and when there isn’t a new one I listen to old ones. I’m a grandmother who is watching a 4 year old and a two year old full time. I love your advice for raising children! It can be very lonely staying home taking care of little ones and cleaning cleaning cleaning, but you’ve made me realize how important it is. The rest of the world doesn’t make me feel that way but now I know they’re wrong and we are not! You are so pretty I would love if you could offer some beauty tips and ways to stay feminine as we get older.
God Bless,
Kimberly
I don't fast forward to the "About People" part! : ) I enjoy the entire talk. *big smile* The 'Look Book' looks interesting, I'll have to look that up, I used to do fashion illustration and always loved the Laura Ashley look and the 40s looks as well. I wish I could wear more of the 40s skirts, that length. I can if I wear hosiery but my shoes cannot be very high heeled.
Oh the peoples...They can be very discouraging and can even mask it in scripture! I usually play dumb but dumb like a fox. ; )
I liked what you said about our children. Yes, we need to be careful not to be cold or or make them feel demeaned.
I grew up with a mom and dad who were not perfect, but not competitive or manipulative in any way, so in my adult years I had to learn quickly about these kind of people.
I applied my makeup, got dressed, hosed off some very dirty rugs, shoes, and threw them in the wash, also cleaned up some messes from our new little rescued dauchshound. I even discovered a turtleneck to put in the give-away bag that has shrunk a bit. Today I listened with the phone in my pocket.
Your jacket is a very good color of red by the way.
Looking forward to the next talk, ~Amelia
Dear Lydia,
I was very happy to hear from your “Homemaking Radio “ program today while I prepared for our evening meal. I’m always glad to listen to your wise perspective on things pertaining to making a success of our lives with home living.
I’m learning the importance of making a list each day. You’re right about how our minds and thoughts can get so muddled up. Having a list keeps me grounded and helps to avoid the brain fog feeling.
Pertaining to difficult people: I agree that many may have unhealthy addictions that keeps them from socializing in a respectable manner with others. The Lord commanded us to comfort the feeble-minded, so I very much appreciated your encouragement to express empathy to these folks.
As always, it was a delight to have your visit and presence (via social media) keeping me company today. Thank you and God bless you with more opportunities and messages for our listening ears!
Blessings,
Holly

I never fast forward ! I'm looking my very best every day thanks to your encouragement.I do it for me because I am the lady of the house. You once said that ,
A lady in the home can be just as beautiful as having lovely flowers in the home if she dresses in happy , pleasant colors and smells nice . I love that you said that! Thank you so much. I look forward to every video!
Thank goodness for Housekeeping Radio! While I listened today I cleaned my oven, which had a lot of burnt-on yuk from Christmas cooking! I also cut up three butternut squash for some soup. As others have said, I don't fast-forward either, as I so enjoy your whole talk Lydia!
I loved your tea cup today and I ink that colour of red really suits you. Have a blessed day.
