Thank you for taking the time to make this video! Dressing is an area I have been challenged in and I find your attitude and encouragement to be very uplifting and inspiring. I live alone and struggle against the “ it’s just me here; nobody will see me” attitude. Also, that mind set carries over into my going out and running errands, shopping, etc. I feel like no one looks at me or notices me, (i’m An older woman), which isn’t true, of course. I am going to try harder to be consistent with my appearance. Thank you so much! God bless you!

Thank you so much for your inspiring video! I feel the need to up my game in the area of beautiful and dignified appearance. I am an older woman and feel like society just looks right past me, but I know that is not true; people do see me and I want to dress in an attractive, dignified and becoming manner. I want to dress that way at home too, even though I live alone. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos Lydia! God bless you and your family!

Thanks for the comments. They give me some more fuel for more videos. I will save my replies to your comments for the next video. Some of the responses contain thoughts I've had myself, and I'd like to express on a video how to be relevant even when living alone and when you don't think anyone sees you.

Hi Lydia,
What a great video. I started wearing dresses after taking pictures in jeans and then in a dress. The result was very life changing. I decided that I looked much better in the dress and that is what I wanted others to see. I have gone back to sewing more as there is a lack of color in manufactured clothing. Many of the items are black.
When I wear the dresses I have made I get a lot of compliments. The compliments are often from the young girls who work as checkers in the store.
I liked what you said about wear beautiful clothing to glorify God. Most women attending church do not realize how women in the pasted dressed up to go to church.
Thanks for sharing with us. Marylee

I downloaded this talk, and the one about dresses in particular, and listened to them in the car while I drove into town to do the grocery shopping today (my husband's car has a USB drive for the stereo). I enjoyed them very much, particularly when you were talking about how people have forgotten how to feel dignified today, which I totally agree with. Clothing is not the only element of having dignity of course, but it is an important part of it. People dress so casually today, as if they themselves are not very important, and I think that's a shame. When you look at pictures of fashions from the 40s and 50s, people got all dressed up just to go to the grocery store - wearing gloves and hats even, and I think the message that gave is that those people were important and worthy of respect.

I always love your videos about clothes, they are very reinforcing as I also prefer to wear dresses and skirts.
