More Holiday Tour

First, I would like to say that the expression "Happy Holiday" is not a neutral, toned down non-religious expression. In fact it is more than that. It means "Happy Holy Days."

My decor this year is mainly focused on light and bright and snow white, for a spacious feeling, but there is still a lot of warmth, as you will see in future posts.

Here I continue my holiday tour, or what I call festive decor, to share my home. On Sunday, after worship, one lady came over to do the tour, except for the two rooms I had to block off due to the fact they are my "hot spots" of disorder, something I hope to clear up completely in the next couple of days.

Do any of you recognize this Home Interiors and Gifts mirror that was in the catalog in those home interiors parties they had?  It was usually over $40 in the catalog so I passed it by, but I recently found it at Goodwill for $7.99 with no damage to it,

so I'm thrilled to have it, although the trend is gone and no one decorates like this anymore. I wish I had saved the catalogs.

I found these 100% cotton flannel sheets twin bed size,  at a local store (Bimart).

We have two of these porch trees but brought them inside because of the rain driving so fiercely at the door, and used them inside. We now have nearly enough lighted miniature trees for each room; and that is so cheerful, it makes me smile. In the old days no one did that and it is fun to see not only a lantern but also a little lighted tree in almost every area of the house. The led lights take batteries that have timers that shut down after a few hours.

Outside, the gate has a Dollar Tree tinsel and wire wreath with a big silver jingle bell on it, both from Dollar Tree (and some are now 50 cents, as the seasonal clearance begins). I used to think the tinsel garlands and wreaths weren't as nice as the green fir branches, but they shine brighter on dark days, as they catch the light, and they don't die, so I can use them next year. I have to be very selective about what I collect, as it all has to go in one or two boxes, and I don't want to take up too much storage space.

There is also one on the front door:

There was a storm which broke a lot of tree branches, so I gathered them and put them in this wagon for a cute stack of wood.

More indoor pictures:

More lanterns.

I still plan to show the kitchen, bathroom, dining room, children's play room, and back porch, and if I don't get around to it I will do it for New Years, which is every bit as festive, especially with silver and white and sparkling lights.

It looks lovely.
We've got our tree up, but it's not going to be decorated until the younger child arrives from Illinois.
Send the rain down here please!!!
Nollaig mhath!

So lovely. I am putting out many hints to the LED candles. I do love live fire, but it is safer with the smaller children. Your ideas are so lovely, I’m planning to do a bit of clearance Christmas shopping to gather up some new decor (that is not breakable). Thank you for the inspiration.

Love it. I, too, love the flameless candles.

It is so refreshing to see a home decorated that wasn't staged with such an overload of decorations that you can't take it all in. I'm talking about pictures in magazines and many on-line. Your home is so pretty.
