The Lord's Day

On this Lord's Day I hope everyone can focus on the sacrificed Christ and the hope of eternal life to those who believe and fulfill His Last Will and Testament. It is so hard to concentrate on the Lord's supper each Lord's Day if our minds are cluttered with thoughts of this world.

We should do our best to put away this world's commotion and personal confusion, to meditate on the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

It is interesting that God gave us 7 days a week but only requires the one day, the first day of the week, to assemble and partake of the memorial emblems.

Some ladies I know have been able to start having Sunday Dinner at home after worship, and I think that's a good habit to establish, for the family and others.

Our dear friend passed away last night and our hearts are lonely for her and we all are seeking ways to fill her place, for she was quite an encourager and a servant to the church. We will miss her phone calls and visits but we can imitate her selflessness and her tireless work for others. She taught us a Bible lesson at our August Ladies Tea, emphasizing that all spiritual blessings  are "in Christ" and none outside of Him.

Today is cold, dark, and gloomy but I hope you ladies at home will make an effort to create light and love for everyone by your hope and your faith.

I took this picture on a road trip few weeks ago in California. It is only a few hours away so it was a relaxing trip.
