Pray Without Ceasing

How is your anxiety level? It might be related to your prayer life; we don't always know, do we?

be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

In our Ladies Bible Class this week, I tried to keep this in mind, by staying with the scriptures we were reading, and not bringing up subjects that create anxiety. It is not always possible, but a lady told me once that when she got anxious thoughts that would not go away she used it as a "trigger" to sing a hymn or repeat scripture aloud. Philippians 4:6-7 is a good one to repeat.

If you feel that thoughts are swirling and you can't settle down or focus (it happens to most people), remember the admonition in this verse to pray instead. There's is a wonderful promise that goes with it: the peace that will guard your heart and mind.

Can you go to a private place and pray aloud? Perhaps you can take a walk somewhere in nature. Maybe you have a quiet and private little room.

Or maybe a tea table in your library area or living room will suffice, provided you get up before the main movement of the household!

I really like the paintings of ladies outdoors looking at the Creation.

There is a lady in the church  who is in the hospital. She had an aneurysm. Her name is Nancy Thomas. She has had many troubles but always been faithful and has often looked after other members of the Lord's body. People all over are praying for her. After this kind of surgery it is always difficult, as a person's health fluctuates and can really give you a scare, so we are all praying without ceasing for Nancy.

This post especially for all of you who stop by here,  to bring you peace.

Just the reminder I was needing today. Thanks for listening to the promptings of the Spirit and sharing your wisdom.

I will add Nancy to my prayer concerns.
I used to laugh when people said God wasn't in school, and prayers were not allowed, evidently none of those pundits were ever in a classroom during final exams.
I pray constantly. For health, for family, for the people affected by the wildfires, for the troops at the border who had to miss Thanksgiving due to a whim. For God to comfort those who need comforting.
(I also prayed without ceasing when we were driving down I94 in a blizzard this past Sunday)

I see in the verse the solution to anxiety. Just use it as a trigger to pray. Anxiety seems to follow us around everywhere these days. Does anyone remember a time when they had no anxiety from traffic, news, illness, loss of loved ones?
